What is Fusion Dance?
Fusion is an improvisational partner dance that’s all about connection—with your partner and the music. Because there are no "right or wrong" moves, it's a fantastic introduction to partner dancing, allowing you to create your own style in the moment.
While its foundation is in expressive dances like Blues and slow Lindy Hop, Fusion welcomes elements from Tango, West Coast Swing, Waltz, and even Contact Improv. The musical vibe in Corvallis is generally on the slower side, with a varied mix of modern sultry and downtempo beats.
Our Two Types of Fusion Dance Events
We hold Fusion events once-per-month, and alternate between these two event styles. We welcome all levels of experience to both, from beginner to experienced.
Both events feature inspiring mood lighting and a cozy chill zone with pillows for relaxing and socializing off the dance floor.

OUR FUSION COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS
⦾ No Street Shoes: We encourage bare feet, socks, or dance paws! Non-marking soft-soled shoes or ballroom shoes are also acceptable. No shoes that have been worn on the street and no boots.
⦾ Don't Spread Covid: Masks are optional and welcome. Do not attend if you have ANY symptoms of respiratory illness or had direct exposure to covid in the last week.
⦾ Honor Fusion Floorcraft: Floorcraft is basic dance navigation and etiquette, with an emphasis on avoiding collisions. For everyone's safety, rolling on the ground and lifting/flying are not permitted in this space. Please join us because you want to improvise in a grounded partner frame (rather than solo dance or straight-up Contact Improv).
⦾ Be Inclusive: All are welcome. We dance free of normative gender roles.
⦾ Be Clear Minded: We dance free of alcohol and other inebriating substances.
⦾ Be Clean: Please arrive fresh with a clean body and clothes, as some of us are very sensitive to strong body odors or any scented products (including essential oils).

- Corvallis Fusion Dance: This event includes a warm-up lesson to introduce some fundamentals. We also offer a large, separate area for solo, ecstatic-style dancing. (While a dedicated solo space isn't typical in fusion culture, we find it creates a more inclusive and comfortable experience for our community. You are free to switch between partner and solo dancing all night!)
- Simply Fusion: This is a more focused event with no warm-up lesson or separate solo space. It's simply two hours of curated music dedicated purely to your partner-dancing enjoyment.
