Ecstatic Dance Corvallis: Oct 31st event details

Be sure to read all of the info below (even if you came to a previous outdoor dance, because the logistics are still a work in progress).
If this is your first time joining us at Ecstatic Dance Corvallis, we highly recommend you review our Newcomer’s Guide here: https://www.ecstaticdancecorvallis.com/newcomers.html

Payment
All payments will be made at the gate in cash, personal check, or Ecstatic Dance passes. (We are not doing advance payments nor digital payments for this event. ) Thanks in advance for your understanding and generous support, as our production costs are much higher than our regular indoor weekly dance.
● $20 per Adult (or 2 Ecstatic Dance passes).
● $10 for Students (with ID), Teens, currently unemployed, or Oregon Trail cardholders
● $5 for Children 12 or younger

Covid Safety Requirements
  • Simple: You must wear a proper mask AND keep six feet social distance at ALL times, except in our designated mask-free dance zone (where 12 feet of social distance is required). A proper mask seals around both your nose and mouth—no plastic face shields or loose bandanas.
  • Any children who attend must stay close to their adult at all times—no roaming on the field.
  • Since Ecstatic Dance is movement meditation and conversations on the dance field are distracting to others, we have a separate zone for conversations and catching up with friends during the dance, away from the active dancers. Masks and 6 feet of social distance required are still required there.

What to Bring
● covid mask and personal sanitizer
● water and snacks
● layers for weather variability
● a trash bag to pack out all of your wrappers, wipes, cans, etc.
● Optional: blanket or ground cover for your own mask-free dance/chill spot
● Optional: flow toys

Driving and Arriving
Please carpool with your housemates and/or relationship partner(s), if possible. It’s tricky to park 50-60-70 cars—but, of course, we don’t want any friends carpooling that would risk coronavirus transmission.
Please honor the dance (and our staff) by arriving in plenty of time to park before the main dance set at 2:00pm. Otherwise, feel free to arrive or leave at any time.
As you enter the driveway, we will be checking people in. Please have your mask on and your payment ready so we can move cars along quickly. And please be patient as we get everyone checked in and parked, as there may be a line at times.

Location
The entrance to the private event field is on Highway 99. Heading north from downtown Corvallis, it’s a left turn about 400 feet past the turnoff for the Roller Derby Rink and about 400 feet before NW Mountain View Drive. The turn will be marked on the day of the event. You will head up the gravel road, and then volunteers will guide you where to park on the edge of the field. It’s a bit bumpy, but very drivable. You may use this Google location to guide you to the entrance: https://goo.gl/maps/haoGxJ9nbYjt14gy5

Important Miscellany
●  The event field is a seasonal wetland and restoration area. It is mostly dry and has been mowed, but the ground is a bit uneven (with some gopher holes, grass tufts, and other minor obstacles). Please plan ahead for dancing on this type of surface, when considering what shoes to wear, etc.
● We will not have trash service on site. Please bring a trash bag to pack out anything you bring.
● A few people have requested to bring their pet dog to our outdoor dances. We are allowing it for now, as long as it doesn’t become a problem. Please keep in mind that some community members are highly allergic or otherwise do not want to have any contact with dogs. Each dog needs to stay reliably with its owner 100% of the time, either on a leash or in a crate.
